TAG: Get to Know me

Link Posted on Updated on

I found this tag at Bionic Book Worm who found it at Too Much of a Book Nerd. I thought it was a great way to drop some interesting facts about us bloggers and let others stumble upon them when checking out our blog and profile. So here goes…

NAME: James

NICKNAMES: Jay, JC, J (but never Jim or Jimmy)

BIRTHDAY: March 18th

OCCUPATION: Technology & Business Ops for ~20 years. Now split with writing.

LIVING IN: New York City (NYC)

HAIR LENGTH: Short, but for a guy, probably considered long…

BEST FEATURE:  I think it’s my shoulders/chest. Friends always say my hair these days.

BRACES: No, but I should have had them. My teeth aren’t perfectly straight. A few are slightly slanted. But I’m not going thru that ordeal now!

PIERCINGS: None now. But in the past, I had two piercings in my left ear and both nipples for a few years. I’m sorry to anyone reading this who finds it surprising or shocking. But in reality, if you saw me at the beach or the pool a few years ago, you would have seen them in person.

TATTOOS: None but I love them. Some day…

PICTURE: Most recent one

I hate the camera!

REAL HOLIDAY: On my own? I don’t know that I remember… moved into my own apartment at 22, so perhaps that Thanksgiving or Christmas?

BEST FRIEND: Lynde while growing up. We lived next door to one another and spent all our time together for 15+ years. We still chat from time to time but live in different places. Now it’s probably Winston for the last 5 years.

AWARD: A bunch in grammar, middle and high school. Best creative short story in college. Versatile Blogger this week for my site. Nothing else I know of!

SPORT: Played soccer and baseball through middle school, then I was a bowler. Even worked there and taught kids how to bowl. Now just the gym.

CONCERT: I am not a concert guy, too many people. My parents too me to a few outdoor ones as a child. The first I actually remember going to… I think it was Madonna in my 20s.

TV SHOWS: I’m only listing the ones currently on air that I watch: Modern Family, Mom, How to Get Away With Murder, The Real O’Neals, Great British Baking Show, Younger, The Crown, Grace and Frankie

COLOR: Black

SONGS: I’m usually good with turning on the radio and listening to anything rock or pop

RESTAURANT: Easier to choose cuisines… Mexican

SHOPS: I’m not a shopper but when I do… Kenneth Cole or Banana Republic

BOOKS: Too many to list… right now, anything by Kate Morton

SHOES: I hate shoes. I prefer not to wear anything, no socks or shoes. If I have to… sandals

FEELING: Old… some of these questions are hard or don’t work for me. Ornery. 😛

SINGLE OR TAKEN: Taken for about 5 1/2 years. We live together.

EATING: Had a half a turkey sandwich about 30 minutes ago for lunch.

THINKING ABOUT: Edits to my book. Waiting on feedback from an agent. Scary.

WATCHING: Last night, the latest episode of “Mom.”

WEARING: comfy cotton shorts, t-shirt and a pair of boxer-briefs

HAVE KIDS: Nope, not unless you count Ryder. Perhaps one day…

WANT TO TRAVEL: Yes, but I have a bit already.  Been to: China, Singapore Thailand, Cambodia, Argentina, Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Spain, Netherlands, UK and France. Plus most of the USA… 35 out of 50 states so far.

In Yourself: Yes, most days.

God: I was raised Catholic.

Miracles: Eh… I believe random things can happen. I’m not sure I’m clear on what we’d call the true definition of a miracle.

Love at first sight: No, because love means so many different things. You can know you will be with someone for a long time. You can be sure you will fall in love with something about them. But I don’t think you can immediately fall in love.

Ghosts: Yes. Spirits. I think you can sense things are around you.

Aliens: There is more than Earth out there.

Soul Mates: Probably not, though I don’t mean it in a bad way. I just mean you can fall in love, and you can be meant to stay together… but we have one soul and not everyone falls in love just once.

Heaven: Yes, there is something positive beyond life.

Hell: Tough one. I believe in forgiveness, so who or what would go there after life? I was taught to believe in it because I am Catholic, but I’m unclear on its real definition.

And now it’s your turn… I’m not tagging anyone specific, but I’d love to see at least 5 of my online friends post reply with their answers and post it on their site, tagging me and letting me know so I can check it out!

That’s a lot of questions. Maybe some day I’ll answer, haha. Thanks for sharing though! Nice to meet you more 😊

So nice to learn more about you! That totally reminds me – I should have added Grace and Frankie to my favourite shows list. I laugh so hard at that show yet I still haven’t finished season two. Kinda hard when it’s not kid appropriate. It’s amazing you’ve gotten to travel so much!

Yes, probably not kid-appropriate. Especially the current season… only into the 3rd episode but the topics in each of the 3 are quite flavorful. Definitely save those for when you are among the 18+ crowd!

I have been very lucky with traveling… I am grateful for all I’ve seen. Some of it was true vacation but some of it was visiting a family member who moved to Asia. That made it a very different (but amazing) trip.

Thanks for the nomination for Bloggers Award. I see my disclaimer of a Award Free Blog is missing. I must put it back.

I bookmarked it so I don’t forget 🙂 I’ll try to get to it this week. I’m recovering from a migraine so I don’t feel like getting to it tonight
