365 Challenge: Day 282 – YiR

YiR: 2017 Goodreads Books — Year in Review (YIR)

Untitled

Goodreads posted everyone’s year in review this past weekend, highlighting all of the books we’ve read. I have a few more to finish, so it’s not complete; however, I thought it would make a good post for today, as I am running around trying to close on last-minute gifts, final Father Figure edits (97% there… will be done on Friday) and meeting a friend for tea, then another for dinner today.

I loved seeing my history of books this last year — since I do enjoy numbers — but also remembering all the wonderful authors, bloggers and reviewers I met through books. Thank you to everyone for all the fun in 2017! I can’t wait to see what 2018 has to offer in the world of books, other than the two of my own I committed to write… am I just glutton for punishment? Oh and the short stories, too. Somebody stop me please. 🙂

About Me & the “365 Daily Challenge”

I’m Jay, an author who lives in NYC. My debut novel, Watching Glass Shatter, can be purchased on Amazon @ http://mybook.to/WGS. I’ve always been a reader. And now I’m a daily blogger. I decided to start my own version of the “365 Daily Challenge” where since March 13, 2017, I’ve posted a characteristic either I currently embody or one I’d like to embody in the future. 365 days of reflection to discover who I am and what I want out of life.

The goal: Knowledge. Acceptance. Understanding. Optimization. Happiness. Help. For myself. For others. And if all else fails, humor. When I’m finished in one year, I hope to have more answers about the future and what I will do with the remainder of my life. All aspects to be considered. It’s not just about a career, hobbies, residence, activities, efforts, et al. It’s meant to be a comprehensive study and reflection from an ordinary man. Not a doctor. Not a therapist. Not a friend. Not an encyclopedia full of prior research. Just pure thought, a blogged journal with true honesty.

Join the fun and read a new post each day, or check out my book reviews, TV/Film reviews or favorite vacation spots. And feel free to like, rate, comment or take the poll for each post. Note: All written content is my original creation and copyrighted to me, but the graphics and images were linked from other sites and belong to them. Many thanks to their original creators.

This is the one thing about Goodreads I so love. Your year in books looks great! 🙂 I’m still reading books so I’m not going to post it till last day of the year. 😀

No! It will take another year or to 2 to reach that number. Goodreads count is 133 but I’m not considering 26 Short stories/picture books/comic. So after deducting those 26, total read is 107.

Still an impressive number! Nice job. Looking forward to the final list.

    Drat! I don’t think I got one, unless I deleted it accidentally.😒

Anyway, Congratulations Jay! I’m heading over to Goodreads to check out your stats in detail. Oh! And with your mad writing skills, you do know none of us are going to stop you, right?😏

Good Morning! I saw it and later deleted it, but if anyone liked it, you might see it in your Notifications feed. Or you could try the same link, but change the user ID to be yours? Might work. If not, I can try to help find it too for you.

Thank you very much! You are SOOO kind. 🙂

My conclusion is that you read big books Jay as you read less books than I did but still more pages 😚

This roundup is one of the best things about Goodreads. I haven’t posted my stats yet because I am still challenging myself to read (and write) a lot more this month. Turns out I’m a glutton for punishment too 🙂

PS. I like that you meet people for tea. I need to start doing that. It sounds so high brow

Being a glutton for this kind of punishment cannot be a bad thing.

That’s a pretty epic wrap-up! I’d be a pretty happy fellow if I could even reach 90 or 100 in a year (that includes the comic books I read too). Keep it up, sir! 😀

I’ll have to check out Goodreads on my computer tomorrow as I missed this, but my numbers loving self is intrigued. It doesn’t seem to exist on the app:(

Good Luck! I only see it on the mobile app if someone likes it and then I can click into it… but not as a menu item.
