I’ve knocked the 8th entry off my Book Bucket List: Into the Water by Paula Hawkins. My review will be posted in the next few days, but while I’m writing it, let’s start thinking about February’s read. In its place, I’ve added Still Me (the 3rd in the ‘Me Before You’ series) by Jojo Moyes to round out the 12 options for the next vote (poll is open below).
The poll for the February 2018 read is open. Click below to vote by 1/10!

About Me
I’m Jay, an author who lives in NYC. My debut novel, Watching Glass Shatter, can be purchased on Amazon @ http://mybook.to/WGS. I am writing my second novel, Father Figure, with plans to publish it in early 2018. As part of the process to engage with my fans and followers, I am publishing a weekly status on the progress of this second book. For a description of this book, check out the post where my friends and followers voted for this book as my second novel.
Beyond these two books, I have a number of short stories, poems and other novels in various shapes and forms. I also read A LOT. First the book review goes on Goodreads, and then I send it on over to my WordPress blog at https://thisismytruthnow.com, where you’ll also find TV & Film reviews, Tags, Awards, Age/Genre/Book Reads and Author Spotlights, as well as the revealing and introspective 365 Daily Challenge.
You can also access my social media profiles to get the details on the who/what/when/where and my pictures. Leave a comment and let me know what you think. Vote in the poll and ratings. I should do a book bucket list. You’ve inspired me. I voted. While Dan Brown’s latest release continues to tempt me, I rebel. His last book made me scream like a harpie and I threw the book out the window. Yup, I got violent with a book. lol!

Isn’t that painful when you want to throw it? I think you should create this list; it was such a fun idea and plan. I am hoping Brown wins, but I own 8 of these, so I really want one of those 8 to win so I don’t have to buy another book! 🙂 don’t get too violent tho!

Okay, you’ve convinced me. I have so many books on my Kindle right now that I would love to read and maybe if I put up a poll, it would help narrow it down. As for the Brown book, it was a hardcover that I paid full price for and when I threw it, it hit a squirrel. I felt bad about it but he recovered and I left tons of nuts for the little guy.
If you read Brown, you’ll have to let me know how it goes. Your reviews are always so detailed and almost as enjoyable as reading the book myself. 🙂

Poor rascal! I’m sure the squirrel survived! You did a good deed with the treats. I will definitely read it next month or the following, if it’s not picked. I plan to buy or download nothing else until I clear the 25 I own. I appreciate the compliment.

Yup, he survived. Although, he stays away from that one corner of the yard I’ve noticed. lol!

I haven’t read a Ken Follet in a while. I would read vicariously through you if you read it. 😃

There are 3 on this list that I’m desperate to read — one is Follett’s… 🙂

I switched my vote this time from The Lake House to Origin, since I’m halfway through it myself. I’d love to know what you think of it Jay.😊

Nice job on finishing Into the Water! Can’t wait for the review! I read The Girl on the Train and am interested in what you thought about Into the Water. I’m thinking about putting it on my to-read list.
I really like the Bucket List idea and kind of want to adopt it for myself, too. Are you okay if I take this idea and kind of make it my own? I’ll definitely credit you for inspiring me to do so. 🙂

Hi! You can totally use the idea — I did, too. In the main post on my page, I give credit to the person who had something sort of along these lines. I customized it to work for me. Have at it! Can’t wait to see your take.
As for Into the Water, I really liked it… probably a 4-star. Lots of good things, a few not as strong as they should have been, but these are the types of novels I love. I didn’t see Girl on the Train or read it, so I can’t compare, but we can chat offline about it to see if you’d like Water or not.

Hi! Nice! I saw that you gave credit to someone else, but since I’d be bouncing my idea off of yours, I’d figure I would check with you.:) I’ll start planning it out this weekend and we’ll see what next week brings!
Thanks! I did read the synopsis and it does sound like something I would like. I’ll keep you posted if I have questions after your review is posted. Thank you!

Love that photo!!! I’ve been voting for Citadel but changed to Origin this time around… can you just read them all at the same time?? 😉

Ha! Thx… well… I own 8 of the 12. I own in total 25 books right now and I won’t buy or download anything else until all 25 are gone, so I sort of will be reading them all in the next 2 months so that I can have a clean slate in March. You might just get your wish!

Told a friend at lunch today she needs to read Watching Glass Shatter. She wanted a good read with family dynamics/issues that was not “entirely predictable.” Sounds like an apt description of your book, right? She promised to read my review of it and get a copy. Yay!

Sounds perfect. You’re a treasure. I appreciate it. Are you back at work or still on break?

Sssshhhhh. This spoiled woman does not teach again (or at least meet the students–I am ready for the first day, even with the handouts run off–LOL) until January 17th!!!! Who else gets a month off for Christmas?

Can’t wait to read your review on Into the Water! It seemed to get some weak reviews, so I’m really curious to see what you thought about it. As far as your bucket list, what a great idea getting people to vote!

I love giving others that opp to choose for me. I pick the 12, but then it’s all their choice!
As for Into the Water, it’s got a 4 from me. Mostly good, a few areas where it was not strong enough, but overall happy with it

Looking forward to reading it, I’m glad to hear you liked it. It didn’t have quite the same kind of surprises that Girl on the Train had but I still enjoyed it.
