Heads Up: N. N. Light Blog Name Change & Multi-Book Giveaway Contest

Posted on

Hi, Friends! If you follow the wonderful and amazing writing team N. N. Light, please be sure to look for them at a new website. The POTL Blog was hacked and shut down earlier this week. After a good cry, MRS N has built a brand new website, a reader’s dream: N. N. Light’s Book Heaven. They’ve officially swapped over to this new location but just in case you didn’t see a communication, the new link is:

Unfortunately, it won’t automatically redirect you, so you’ll need to re-subscribe and follow them for their fantastic content. It’s a whole new layout and design — very eye-catching and appealing. I’ve done an author alert on them and written a review on their inspirational 365 book in the past. Hopefully you took that opportunity to check them out, but if not you can take a peek now. Hope you enjoy!

365 Challenge: Day 328 – Today

Posted on

Today: the word I typed into a Google search form this morning to see if it sparked something brilliant for the 365 Daily Challenge

Every once in a while, fate likes to play with me. My mind is blank after writing three book reviews and editing for ten hours yesterday. I couldn’t conjure a word and just typed today into the Google search field. I assumed it would return some fun sites with things to do, news about the weather, or historical information about what happened on today’s date. Instead I was treated to the news (really, it’s not news) from the website today.com, which I have certainly heard of but never spent any time viewing. Pictures immediately drew my eyes as the first place to focus. I’m linear and read left to right. The first things I get to choke on: (a) someone adding highlights to their hair and (b) a Kardashian baby name… I stopped there. Literally. I might have cried. For humanity. For the reality we live in. For what’s happened to us. Oh… how do I not make this a horrible ranting post. Where are you when I need you, Ryder!

Seriously, this is news? We’ve all complained about it before, but if that’s showing as the top things, it means people are searching for it enough that it makes it to the top of the news feeds and returned searches. I hope I’m not offending anyone who finds all that stuff interesting, but it kinda annoyed me that it was the first thing being returned this morning. I digress… it caused me to just sit there and snarl for a few minutes, which meant I had little time to come up with a real word for today’s 365 post. As a result, you get to suffer with lazy content just like I suffered with LAZY content. Ha!

No more Google searches for me this week. Bad things happen. When I looked yesterday as research for how a character might feel over a certain situation, some of the returned sites were NOT what I’d expected. So… I will continue to just make some stuff up based on how I think the person would feel. I guess my sarcastic side has come out already and it’s only 8am. I wonder what will happen when I try to focus on editing today. Later, Friends…

About Me & the “365 Daily Challenge”

I’m Jay, an author who lives in NYC. My debut novel, Watching Glass Shatter, can be purchased on Amazon @ http://mybook.to/WGS. I’ve always been a reader. And now I’m a daily blogger. I decided to start my own version of the “365 Daily Challenge” where since March 13, 2017, I’ve posted a characteristic either I currently embody or one I’d like to embody in the future. 365 days of reflection to discover who I am and what I want out of life.

The goal: Knowledge. Acceptance. Understanding. Optimization. Happiness. Help. For myself. For others. And if all else fails, humor. When I’m finished in one year, I hope to have more answers about the future and what I will do with the remainder of my life. All aspects to be considered. It’s not just about a career, hobbies, residence, activities, efforts, et al. It’s meant to be a comprehensive study and reflection from an ordinary man. Not a doctor. Not a therapist. Not a friend. Not an encyclopedia full of prior research. Just pure thought, a blogged journal with true honesty.

Join the fun and read a new post each day, or check out my book reviews, TV/Film reviews or favorite vacation spots. And feel free to like, rate, comment or take the poll for each post. Note: All written content is my original creation and copyrighted to me, but the graphics and images were linked from other sites and belong to them. Many thanks to their original creators.
