The Writing Race Is On…

Posted on

As you’ve come to know on the This Is My Truth Now blog throughout the last 18 months, I’ve always got something going on in the writing world… well this time, I find myself with three outlines written and a passion for taking the writing plunge with two of them. What’s an author to do?

THE RACE IS ON...WHICH BOOK WILL I FINISH FIRST_

Write them both… which I’ve begun. As of today, I have two fully drafted ~25 page outlines, publication schedules and detailed character, setting and plot descriptions. I’ve also written 2 chapters for one of the novels. I’ll be revealing hints all throughout July and announcing in August what will be published in the Fall of 2018. It’s getting hot in NYC and it’s not just the 100 degree temperatures we’ve been experiencing. It’s me! Does anyone care to take a guess as to what the books might be about?

I’m awful, right? I seem to feel the need to up my game each time… last time it was letting others choose the book I will write. This time it’s two at the same time. Oy.

      Congrats on 52 weeks, btw!

I think you just want to make sure you don’t have to go out and get a “real” job anytime soon! I’d love a sequel/prequel to Watching Glass Shatter. 🙂 I’m going to read Father Figure for my 2018 reading challenge. It covers my “Book with an alliteration in the title” so thanks for that!

Oh you don’t put your work out there ^^ You simply keep track of your word count. At the end of the month, you can upload your work to a word count tracker to verify you’ve reached the word count you entered. They immediately delete all record of your document. I’ve used them for about 3 years and highly rec them if you’re ever interested.

Exciting! I have had this happen to me on a couple of occasions, where I start writing two books at once and just can’t decide which one to follow for a while. Eventually, one of them takes over, and I focus on that on and work on it until it’s finished. Then I come back to the other one and finish it. It’s worked for me twice already, so I imagine this is my process. Everyone is different, of course!
