Author Alert: Didi Oviatt’s Book Makeovers!

Posted on Updated on

Earlier this year, I had the privilege to read two fantastic books by Didi Oviatt. I’m going to be reading a third sometime in the next three months, too, once it’s ready to launch. While this prolific and creative writer works on that next book, she’s also signed on with a new publisher and has re-issued her earlier books – it’s makeover time! And what gorgeous covers they’ve come up with.

In today’s post, I’m sharing the new covers, new blurbs, some updated special scenes, and the links to get everything when it’s re-published this month. If you’ve missed out in the past, now’s your time to jump on the bandwagon because once it gets rolling, you might not catch up! Here’s a link to her dedicated author page on my blog — very few have earned this spot… but she’s definitely one of them!

Aggravated Momentum:

The life of a seemingly normal family is shattered as long-buried skeletons emerge and dark family secrets surface.

Danger lurks so close to home. But who is the cold, calculated murderer? Can it be Markie or Kam: one of the independent sisters, guilty of nothing more than getting tangled with the wrong people at the wrong time?

Or is it another cowardly snake, curled in a hidden corner?

The deeper you dig, the more breathtaking the secrets you will find.

Search-For-Maylee-Promo-Hardback-Ereader

Search For Maylee:

Since Maylee was abducted from her high school the very month of graduation, her Aunt Autumn has never lost hope in finding her.

It’s been three years. Autumn has finally reached inside herself and found the courage to track down an old lead, and travels across the country to find more clues about Maylee’s disappearance.

But will she be able to pry Maylee’s case back open, and what will she uncover in the process of searching for Maylee?

It’s a cold, dark world we live in, and Autumn is about to find out just how cruel it can be. But strength and determination are on her side, and she will do whatever it takes to deliver justice.

Excerpt from Search For Maylee

This wasn’t the same manager that she’d spoken to when she picked out the apartment. This new guy had a much smoother and kinder face, and he appeared to be a lot younger, probably in his late twenties. Perhaps a College drop-out? Autumn speculated, concluding that he was most likely managing the place for the free rent that the job entails. Was she stereotyping him? Maybe… Did she care? No.

“Can I help you ma’am?”  His smile rang friendly.

“Hi, yes.” She hesitated, “My name is Autumn. I’m renting an apartment here. I’m sorry to bother you so late.”  She straightened her wrinkly top and fiddled with a gnawed off thumbnail before saying, “I’m just arriving, and I was wondering if you know of anyone that I could pay to help me unpack?”

“Oh, hey, yes, I heard about you!”  His handsome smile grew causing his ears to lift, and a cute little crease to form just below the right cheekbone. “Apt 22 right?”

“Yes, that’s right.”

“Howdy then, ma’am, I’m Jeremy.”

It was a very informal introduction yet he insisted on shaking her hand. His palm was big and his fingers were slightly calloused. A heavy free hand slapped her on the shoulder causing her entire body to jolt. He seemed like a very outgoing young man. A few husky voices rang in from behind him. Autumn could hear a couple of men laughing and joking in the background. It actually sounded like they were having a blast. She couldn’t quite make out their jokes or comments, but it wasn’t from lack of trying. A listening ear strained to make out their words.

Autumn tried, without success, to recall the last time she was able to laugh so freely.  Even with her friends, witty conversation and playful banter had been forced since the loss of Maylee. The lighthearted beam that Autumn used to carry with her everywhere, was now nothing more than a distant flicker.

It existed somewhere, but she was unable to actually grasp it tight enough to hang on for more than a few seconds at a time. Every time that lighthearted twinkle returned to her eyes, or a gleeful fire began to build in her chest, it was quickly distinguished with grief. Washed away before anything more than a spark could ignite. But, at least there was hope. Autumn was here for a reason and maybe someday she could get that light back.

Jeremy must have noticed her distraction by his guests because he tilted his head to the side, leaned into her personal space, and made a fully conscious effort to engage her in eye contact. That attractive crease in his cheek returned with the questioning grin he threw at her. Embarrassed butterflies escaped Autumn’s chest and a lump formed in her throat.

“Care to join?” He asked, pointing over his tall shoulder with a large outstretched thumb. “I’ve got a few friends over. We just finished up a barbeque. I’m sure there’s a burger left if you’re hungry?”

“Oh no,” was her very quick response.

Autumn couldn’t possibly impose on a party of strangers. The pull of her tired eyelids were nagging at her to get settled for the night, and she couldn’t help but to notice there wasn’t a female voice to be heard. This entire situation had danger written all over it. If there was one quality Autumn truly admired about herself it was a keen sense of reserved caution. After all, you’re nothing if not safe.

After declining the drink to go along with the already turned down burger that her stomach was very loudly cursing her for, Autumn again asked for help. Jeremy shouted over his shoulder toward the kitchen causing her to nearly jump out of her skin.

“Hey guys,” he yelled at his guests without taking his eyes off of her. The smile he had remained intact.  “I’ve got a quick job to do for a tenant, wanna’ help?”

Autumn’s eyes widened in fear, her feet shifted nervously beneath her, and she struggled to find words.

“I… Um… I can find someone else, really.” She hesitated.

Jeremy leaned forward and whispered, so that no one else could hear.

“They really only look scary, and they might smell, but they’re harmless, I assure you.” He said with a wink.

The three men that entered the room caused Autumn’s mouth to open, just a crack, and her shoulders to lower with the air that escaped her. An awkward rush of defeat crawled up her legs and stopped in her neck, threatening to drain the very life from her. The first man in sight was clearly older than Jeremy, by at least five years – was her guess.

He appeared to nearly double Jeremy in weight, and not the unhealthy kind either. There wasn’t an ounce of blubber to be found, only the thick hard kind of weight that most men only dream of developing. His hair was light, short, and squared off in a boxy type cut that had a weird way of making the muscles between his neck and shoulders look even bigger. A superman symbol was tattooed on his neck, just above the collarbone. It was the first tattoo Autumn noticed but definitely not the only one in the room.

Two more men emerged from behind the giant. One looked a lot like Jeremy, with the same smile and an identical crease below the cheekbone. It wasn’t really a dimple so much as a handsome dip of the skin, or a glorified wrinkle in the perfect spot.

Didi Oviatt is an intuitive soul. She’s a wife and mother first, with one son and one daughter. Her  thirst to write was developed at an early age, and she never looked back. Along with a six- piece short story collection called the Time Wasters. She’s also collaborated with Kim Knight in an ongoing interactive short story anthology The Suspenseful Collection. When Didi doesn’t have her nose buried in a book, she can found enjoying a laid back outdoorsy life. Time spent sleeping under the stars, hiking, fishing, and ATVing the back roads of beautiful mountain trails, sun-bathing in the desert heat, along with watching the relaxing dance of a campfire plays an important part of her day-to-day lifestyle.

*** Original 365 Daily Challenge Post from 2017 ***

Relentless: (a) ‘a force to be reckoned with’ or (b) 365 Daily Challenge word for today’s author alert — Didi Oviatt

issue-2465910__340

If you are new to the ThisIsMyTruthNow blog, the 365 Daily Challenge, or the Author Alert segment, check out the About Site section from the main menu. Below are some key things to know about this author, but at the end of this post, you’ll see the permanent page I’ve added to my blog. You can return to check out more on who she is, what she’s writing and how to buy her future work.

———-

Hello there This Is My Truth Now readers (and hi Ryder!).  Allow me to introduce myself before I proceed to barge my way into Jay’s blog for the day. My name is Didi Oviatt, and sometimes I consider myself to be a professional make believer. I write suspense novels and short stories, but to stop myself from getting carried away by talking too much about myself, which I’m good at *wink wink* let me first dive into Jay’s 365 word of the day!!

I think I’ll follow the lead of Chauncey Rogers. In his Author Alert on Jay’s blog last week Chauncey chose the word of the day (chicken), and did all the breaking down of this word rather than letting Jay do it. Now, because this is the big Book Blog Tour banner month for James J. Cudney’s novel Watching Glass Shatter, I feel like he could use the break today. [Alert Interruption from Jay — Yes, totally. I am grateful to you!]

filler-2294342__340

I’m choosing the word Relentless! I love this word, and for so many great reasons.

The word relentless is really a force to be reckoned with. It’s an adjective and it’s very definition states: oppressively constant; incessant. Some of the official synonyms listed for the word Relentless are: Persistent, constant, unabating, and even never-ending.

See, I told you, it’s quite a powerful word, right?!

Today when I think of this word, the very first thing that comes to mind is Ryder and his relentless love of chasing birds. The second thing that comes to mind is Jay and his relentless dedication to this perfectly executed blog, along with his relentless love for writing and producing such amazing literature and blog posts. Jay, you’re a fantastic human and I couldn’t be any more grateful to be here today. [Alert Interruption from Jay — Shh, I’m just me!]

The third thing that comes to mind with this powerhouse word of the day, is the character is my new release. Her name is Autumn, and the book is called Search For Maylee. You see, Autumn’s niece Maylee vanished. The last time anyone seen her was three years ago right after Autumn dropped her off in the parking lot of her High School. The case file was eventually placed on a dusty old shelf to grow cold and forgotten, yet Autumn refuses to let it go and give up. Autumn is RELENTLESS!

Autumn fights through her fears and anxiety in order to take matters into her own hands. Upon tracking down a current address for an old lead, she sells everything she has and moves across the country to find him…. and watch. Autumn has no intention of confronting this man, but rather to stock him in hopes of finding anything that might lead her to Maylee. What Autumn finds is far beyond anything she could have imagined. And, because of her relentless dedication to finding her niece, she continues to push through no matter what heart wrenching circumstance is wedged in her way.

[Alert Interruption from Jay — See, I told you she’s awesome and generous and cool! Now follow her site and blog to get more great deals and news in the future!]

About Me & the “365 Daily Challenge”

I’m Jay, an author who lives in NYC. My debut novel, Watching Glass Shatter, can be purchased on Amazon @ http://mybook.to/WGS. I’ve always been a reader. And now I’m a daily blogger. I decided to start my own version of the “365 Daily Challenge” where since March 13, 2017, I’ve posted a characteristic either I currently embody or one I’d like to embody in the future. 365 days of reflection to discover who I am and what I want out of life.

The goal: Knowledge. Acceptance. Understanding. Optimization. Happiness. Help. For myself. For others. And if all else fails, humor. When I’m finished in one year, I hope to have more answers about the future and what I will do with the remainder of my life. All aspects to be considered. It’s not just about a career, hobbies, residence, activities, efforts, et al. It’s meant to be a comprehensive study and reflection from an ordinary man. Not a doctor. Not a therapist. Not a friend. Not an encyclopedia full of prior research. Just pure thought, a blogged journal with true honesty.

Join the fun and read a new post each day, or check out my book reviews, TV/Film reviews or favorite vacation spots. And feel free to like, rate, comment or take the poll for each post. Note: All written content is my original creation and copyrighted to me, but the graphics and images were linked from other sites and belong to them. Kirkus Reviews

ALL SYSTEMS DOWN Sam Boush Lakewater Press (284 pp.) ISBN: 978-0-9944512-7-9; February 8, 2018 – BOOK REVIEW

“In Boush’s debut thriller, a North Korean cyberattack cripples America’s infrastructure, sparking chaos and leaving the country vulnerable to a military invasion.
Brendan Chogan first senses trouble afoot during his job interview for a security-guard position at a Portland, Oregon, robotics company. A computer virus is apparently affecting the building, which then loses internet access. A report comes in by phone that the internet is down across the country. It’s merely the beginning of a North Korean strike against U.S. systems, and soon citizens nationwide lose their cellular service and electricity. Panic ensues, and Brendan realizes that he, his wife, Vailea, and their 8-year-old twin daughters may not be safe. Meanwhile, hacker Xandra Strandlien’s boss at U.S. Cyber Command sends her to Oregon. Intelligence on Chinese-Russian joint military exercises has led to a fear of a post-cyberattack armed invasion, and the Oregon area, which has no military bases nearby, is a potential target. As Brendan and Vailea struggle to secure their home and stockpile food and water, they encounter allies, including Xandra and a couple of U.S. Navy fighter pilots who lost contact with their supercarrier. When an invasion indeed materializes, this small group works together on a mission to upload malware to the enemies’ servers. Despite the fact that the attack is nationwide, Boush concentrates on the characters in Oregon, who later include vacationing campers from Los Angeles. It’s a wise choice, as the story mixes smaller battles (such as characters fending off would-be intruders at the Chogan house) with large-scale ones; Xandra’s plan, for example, entails jumping from a low-flying plane into a river. The author also richly details the cyberattack’s chaotic aftermath; for instance, Vailea gets a workout in a grocery store that’s besieged by a horde of frenzied shoppers: “She gasped for breath, muscles straining like treading water.” Interestingly, the most striking character is a relatively minor one: Sierra Eigelb, a random survivor who first appears about halfway through the novel. Her newfound affinity for killing turns her into a terrifying villain. The story’s swift pace leads to a surprisingly thorough wrap-up. A tightly plotted tale with characters that could energize a planned series.”

Author Spotlight: Robbie Cheadle – FREE SNEAK PEAK at New Story

Posted on Updated on

As part of our upcoming Children’s Book Readathon, we have a few fantastic authors and bloggers who are participating in the final week. Last week, I highlighted a wonderful writing duo that I came across about a year ago: Robbie and Michael Cheadle. Today they are sharing a special new story called Chocolate Delight and the Sugar Dog.

***

dog

Sir Chocolate and Lady Sweet

have a son – Chocolate Delight,

a mild mannered and kindly lad

he’d never get into a fight.

This despite his enormous size

the biggest boy in town,

he has a smile for everyone

you’ll never see him frown.

The teachers at the local school

love to have him in their class,

polite and hardworking as can be

he achieves a merit pass.

He has a beloved sugar dog

he takes for walks each day,

‘round the hot chocolate ponds

they love to run and play.

These ponds on a cold winter’s day

provide visitors with a delicious treat,

a rich ‘n creamy drink, it warms you up

and is wonderfully thick and sweet.

1

After school, moms gather at the ponds

their children and pets running free,

with a picnic blanket and basket

it’s the perfect place for high tea.

While out for a stroll one winter’s day

making the most of the weak sunlight,

an unexpected event occurred

which gave Chocolate Delight a fright.

Lord Humbug was out enjoying the sun

his trio of energetic dogs in tow,

they jumped into a steaming pond

and swam madly to and fro.

They delightedly chased the little ducks

that lived amongst the pretzel reeds

an unfortunate circumstance that occurred

when the dogs were off their leads.

A disapproving crowd soon gathered round

they did not like this game,

Lord Humbug ignored them; looking away

his dogs carried on just the same.

4

The dogs were happily paddling around

yipping and yelping with pleasure,

disturbing all the water creatures

and disrupting the picnickers’ leisure.

The peaceable ducks were scared

they tried to escape – wings flapping,

the naughty dogs were excited

at the birds barking and yapping.

The wide mouthed, green frog

sunning himself on a leaf,

dived off and hastily swam away

before the dogs could do him grief.

Two of the dogs were strong swimmers

but the third had started to struggle,

his master worriedly called to him

and he gave his tail a waggle.

The poor little dog was quite unsure

strike for shore or stay and play,

he decided to play on with his friends

much to Lord Humbug’s dismay.

3

Within a short space of time

it was evident, the dog was in trouble,

as he dipped beneath the chocolate surface

up popped a chocolate bubble.

The dog came up, making a whistling sound

paddling frantically on the spot,

the crowd looked on with baited breath

would he make it to shore – or not.

The poor little fellow was sinking fast

eyes huge – he was losing the fight,

Chocolate Delight plunged in to give a hand

and help him out of his plight.

Chocolate Delight got hold of the dog

and supported him to the shore,

the gathered crowd were really thrilled

and hailed him with cheers galore.

Lord Humbug apologised for his selfishness

and have Chocolate Delight a reward,

this he received with grateful thanks

glad that peace had been restored.

Sir Chocolate and Lady Sweet

were very proud of their boy,

they held a party in his honour

to show their pride and joy.

2

Lord Humbug wanted to make amends

and built a home for the grateful ducks,

he now visits them every day

and the ducklings into bed tucks.

THE END

Author Spotlight: Maria E. L. Thomassen & The Metanoia Phases (with Q&A)

Posted on

The life of authors and readers – besides being amazing fun – are ultra-busy and complex. With the market having tons of books that are easily accessible and full of fantastic content, how do you know which ones to choose? That’s where I come in… sharing news about new authors or old favorites who might be launching upcoming releases.

Today, I’m highlighting a fellow author I’ve come to know in the last few months, Maria E. L. Thomassen. Maria recently published the first two books in her fantasy series, The Metanoia Phases. They’ve been added to my Goodreads TBR for a future read, but I wanted to share some news with everyone sooner rather than later because Maria will launch the third book soon… stay tuned and check out her Twitter and Instagram accounts below during the week of 7/23 for the exciting release date, cover reveal, and how/where you can find the book.

When you scroll through the pictures below, pay close attention to the GORGEOUS covers she and her team have designed. That blue! The magical elements! The font! Stunning… For now, let’s recap what I know about books one and two in her very curious and powerful series… as well as her responses to my twelve interview questions. Then see if you find yourself so smitten you’ve got to get a copy.

Quote from the 1st Book

The tingling sensation appeared, spreading like wildfire inside me. I just wanted it to go away, I grabbed Hayden’s shirt, squeezing my eyes tighter, willing the feeling to go away, but with no luck, it was remaining, grabbing on to me. I was on fire, every inch of me was instantly burning. I wanted to crawl out of my body, just ripping off my skin to relieve the burning.”

  • You have several books available in this series… tell us a little bit about your past work and the genres you most enjoy exploring.
    • Answer: Actually The Metanoia Phases is the first story I’ve been working on, It started out 14 years ago, being rewritten and reshaped many times, to the result that it is today. I love writing fantasy anything can happen. But, I can reveal that after this project is finished I will be diving into some horror/thriller.
  • Where do you live? Country, city, area, type of home, etc. Whatever you feel comfortable with… just an opportunity for readers and fans to picture where you spend much of your time.
    • Answer: I live in the small Denmark, on the country in a big house with my dog, and my boyfriend. We have a huge garden, and the most amazing part about that, is a swinging chair I have hanging from a tree. I love to sit there; reading and writing, just feeling myself being carefully swung, that’s heaven.
  • Name a few favorite authors or influencers as well as someone you are always impressed by in the literary world.
    • Answer: Well, I’m a sucker for Nicholas Sparks. But if we dive into fantasy I really love L. J. Smith, she’s amazing, and I get inspired by her voice and stories.
  • What’s your next writing project?
    • Answer: Oh, there’s a few actually; the first new project will be a horror/thriller called Thirteen Days of Winter. And after that my mind have traveled toward a spin off, of the Metanoia Phases, showing what happens many years after the first.
  • Besides writing novels, what keeps you busy?
    • Answer: I have a full-time job on a Café, making the food. My family is very important to me, so I spent a lot of time with them. I enjoy going to the movies, playing games all night long with my girlfriend.
  • What’s the most frustrating part of the book publishing process – anything that comes to mind from the beginning to the end?
    • Answer: The worst part for me, is figuring out that you missed something critical for the book. I like the read through and the edits, seeing the book in a whole new light.
  • Have you ever co-written a book or considered doing it? How would that work?
    • Answer: No, I haven’t, and honestly I don’t think I could make it work, I’m pretty determined and stubborn as hell, I like things a certain way, and there’s no arguing once I put my mind on that.
  • What type of characters do you love and hate to write?
    • Answer: I love to write the vulnerable, but also the evil villains, I like flawed characters, and broken fighter to become stronger. I don’t think there’s any character I hate to write, not yet at least.
  • How much research do you usually put into your writing before and during the process?
    • Answer: A lot, I sat down to create a story board, writing down every character,  and basically everything about them, then I described the world, and the house they were living in, researching about every little part of that. I have a lot of different language in the books, and I did a whole lot of research on that.
  • How did you come up with the name “Metanoia” for this book?
    • Answer: It was actually called Dragonfly, but as I went on it didn’t really make sense, so I dived into researched, and then it just came to me, a picture of Metanoia written down, with the meaning of it, and I thought that’s exactly what the main character is going through, so I decided to use the phases of Metanoia for each book. Metanoia is originally Greek, which was perfect, due to the fact that I have Greek mythology in the books. Metanoia stands for changing one’s life, mind, heart and self. And that’s what the MC does through out the books.
  • What’s a perfect evening out for you?
    • Answer: going to a fancy place to eat, enjoying the company, and then a great movie. That’s always a winner.
  • What do you want to accomplish with your writing and books?
    • Answer: I hope to reach the world, sharing my stories, I want the reader to be entertained, shocked and touched, and somehow amazed by what is happening in the books. I hope that one day, I will be able to quit my day job, and work as a writer, earning enough, I don’t have to make millions, I just want to support myself by what I love to do.

Intro to Book: Bacon Pie (with link to a GIVEAWAY)

Posted on Updated on

As a continuation of the Author Alert series, I’m beginning to gear up again to start sharing more information on authors I’ve been reading the last few months. Today, I bring you another author that I WILL be read in a few months. You can find this adorable young adult / contemporary fiction / romance book on Goodreads through this link. It is officially released today, April 13th, 2018 and you can purchase it in many places such as Amazon.

Description:

Lia Abbie has the easy life—kicking it back with old school video games, hanging out with her best friend Barnabas, and alternating her living schedule between the apartments of her two dads and her mom.

Kiev Jimenez is a theater geek who loves him some Shakespeare and taking care of his pet armadillo. He has one set goal in life: obtaining the role of Horatio for the Hamlet school play.

When a showdown between Lia and Kiev lands them in the principal’s office, they’re forced into volunteer work at the cringe-worthy Piggy Palooza Festival, or risk being suspended. Lia and Kiev aren’t thrilled about the situation, especially when it interferes with Lia’s relaxed life and Kiev’s theater role.
But by working together, they may find more than just bacon—possibly a little
love in the air.

About the Authors:

  • Candace Robinson: I’m just your average hemiplegic migraine sufferer. My days are spent writing, book reviewing and traveling through books for my blog, Literary Dust. I live just outside of Houston, Texas, where it feels like the hottest place on Earth with the crazy weather. No, seriously, one day it’s 30 degrees and the next it’s 70 degrees! I live with my husband and awesome daughter! You can also follow me on my review blog Literary Dust

  • Gerardo Delgadillo: Yup. Even though I’m like  one-hundred-and-fifty-nine years old, spelled all out, I love to write about contemporary teens in distress. So no magic, dragons, or unicorns. At the tender age of sixteen years old, when giant lizards ruled the world, I used to be a DJ–turntables and all. I was born in the States, raised in Mexico, and now live in Big D. Cloud computing is my area of expertise–just don’t ask me what cloud computing means. I love football, the one played with the feet by footballers, La Liga from Spain being the best. Chilaquiles is my favorite food. Yummy. About my novels — Multi-cultural is my writing trade, in English and Español. My writing must be emotional or else … I believe in the Oxford comma, but the Oxford comma doesn’t believe in me. Love first person present tense POV. In my novels, food tends to be another protagonist.

Intro to Author & Blogger: Marco Etheridge

Posted on Updated on

As a continuation of the Author Alert series, I’m beginning to gear up again to start sharing more information on authors I’ve been reading the last few months. Today, I bring you an author that I WILL be read in a few months. Marco and I connected via our blogs late last year, but between his novel and my novel, we couldn’t find time to read each other’s works or even share news on all his travels. I wanted to share his book page which you can read on Goodreads as a heads up that I’ll be reading his book once I return from my trip to Italy in May.

rain.jpg

Marcos’ book, The Best Dark Rain: A Post-Apocalyptic Struggle for Life and Love, crosses into a few areas of interest: Seattle, last couple standing, intensity of a very different world… Although this isn’t a genre that I normally read, I like to be diverse and try new things… take a look and if anyone’s interested in joining me with a buddy read this summer, let me know. He’s currently working on this third novel, so there will be plenty more to dive in once you decide you enjoy his style and voice. You can read more about Marco below and reach out to him via his blog. I’m also sure he’ll respond to this post and you can further connect with him. Happy Reading!

Marco Etheridge is an eccentric world traveler and writer living in Vienna, Austria. He is the author of the exciting new novel “The Best Dark Rain: A Post Apocalyptic Struggle for Life and Love.” Marco’s second novel, “Blood Rust Chains,” is scheduled for release in April of this year. Marco Etheridge lives in Vienna, Austria, where he is currently hard at work on his third novel, a political satire thriller.

Marco’s novels lead the reader on intricate literary journeys through different genres. With attention to detail and thoughtful prose, Marco builds immersive worlds crafted to house distinct and diverse characters. Always character and dialogue driven, Marco’s novels captivate the readers with dark charm and unforeseen plot hooks.

Though born in the USA, Marco considers himself a citizen of the world. Love carried him across the Atlantic Ocean to Vienna, Austria; and love holds him there. The long and winding pathway that has led to writing novels is one of varied experience. Marco has been a soldier, a commercial fisherman, a wanderer, and a jack-of-all-trades. His feet have happily trod the soil of over thirty countries spread over four continents and the odd sub-continent. The world is his playground and his fellow citizens are his playmates.

Marco’s antidote for everything is to throw some gear in his faithful Deuter backpack and disappear. An avid traveler and a complete street-food junkie, there is nothing he won’t try. Munching wok-roasted spiders in Cambodia? Absolutely. How about a four-course meal in Bangkok’s Chinatown, with each course from a different street stall? He is there! If you are interested in tall tales of travel, please check out Marco’s travel blog.
