My Encounter with Truth

I wandered around today

Not feeling anything.

My flesh — raw,

Open wide to pain.

But then late this afternoon,

Enchanted by a thought,

I ran to Truth.

I asked to be caught.

Truth commented silently,

While talking to others.

A memory cleared.

I can recover.

And if just for a moment,

I had had enough left,

Then I could try.

I need to survive.

Please don’t disappoint me Truth.

You can’t lock me out.

Give me the key

To open your door.

I know you won’t. It’s my fault.

I did it to myself.

I was too weak.

Reason is no more.

Dear Truth, before I go,

I must ask one favor.

Relinquish me.

Truth – I need to know.
